Early bloom menu at the Botanist

The Botanist is well known for it's beautifully crafted botanical cocktails but less so for its food offering which is a real shame as they've got so much to offer. We've gushed over their customisable deli boards before but this time we want to tell you about their ludicrously well priced Early Bloom menu where you can get two courses for £13.50 or three courses for £15.50 Monday to Friday between 12pm and 6.30pm. Usually you'd expect to see relatively cheap dishes making up this type of menu but there's calamari, sea bass and even their famous hanging kebabs gracing the menu.

The calamari starter is really interesting and not what you'd expect from your usual starter, instead of being simply fried and served up with a bowl of tartare sauce the calamari is seasoned with a fajita seasoning, and served with fresh guacamole and a corn salsa - can we eat our calamari like this every time please? The Cumberland chipolatas are deliciously meaty and come with the most moreish pot of beer & mustard sauce ever imaginable. We urge you to order the chicken burger but not for the burger itself (even though that was delicious) but for the salt & pepper chips you can upgrade to, incredibly sticky, extremely well seasoned and full of chillies... we're drooling as we type remembering how good they were!

It's nice to see plenty of vegetarian dishes on the menu, not that we are vegetarian ourselves but we do opt for the veggie dish regularly. The halloumi and falafel hanging kebab are a perfect example of why you don't need to eat meat all the time. The falafel balls were packing a flavour punch and the halloumi perfectly crispy on the outside and smothered in their famous dripping garlic butter. We've recently been on a bit of a sticky toffee pudding hype ordering it whenever it's on the menu, and theirs lived up to expectations, seriously indulgent and ever so sticky. If you're more of a fruity person opt for the bitter chocolate pot which is incredibly rich and every chocolate lovers dream with plenty of roasted sharp pineapple and a sorbet to break it up.

This menu is available at Alderley Edge, Chester, Deansgate, Knutsford, Leeds and Reading so if it's on near you we seriously suggest you to make your Monday 100% better with an early dinner or start your weekend early with a big Friday lunch.
