A Cosy Set Menu at Humphrey's, Amsterdam

Humphreys was on our list of recommendations from one of Danielle's foodie colleagues before we flew out to Amsterdam and as it was only a few meters down the road from our hotel it seemed ludicrous not to give it a try. The concept is a 3 course set menu with a fine dining twist and at €27 a person it's quite the steal.

The venue itself is plush, cosy and romantic yet deceivingly big but we do recommend booking ahead because they do manage to fill all covers, even during midweek! The menu is pretty diverse and offers everything from sushi & steak to cannelloni & pumpkin soup. We both opted for carpaccio to start, which, if we spot it on a menu we'll always order it. The mixed grill was the definite winner for mains, made up of a skewer of steak, black Angus burger, pork tenderloin, bacon and free range chicken fillet with plenty of mushrooms, bell peppers, onion and aoli, which we had been drooling over on Instagram earlier that week. Desserts served up a cheese platter with kletzen fruit, nut bread and fig jam that was the perfect way to end the meal as a rich chocolate pudding would of definitely been the death of us!

All portions were pretty sizeable so it's good value for money and with plenty of different 3 course combinations you could happily visit a couple of times during a visit, there's even 2 different restaurants within a 15 minute walk so you could change it up and try a different one.
