Dining at Dam Squares best kept secret
Set just off Amsterdam's famous Dam Square, we must have walked past Royal 98 a thousand times without even noticing it. It was only on our last day when we were looking for refuge from the rain and a break from trailing around our mini suitcases that we spotted all the pastries from the window and decided to give it a try.
Hidden away right at the back behind the bakery is a restaurant with a beautiful open kitchen, something you really wouldn't of expected from outside. Not only is the space beautiful and the prices pretty reasonable (especially when you consider its extremely popular location) but you can watch the chefs make pizzas to order right in front of your eyes using the best local & organic ingredients that they can source. Choosing between their incredible looking salads, hearty Italian pastas, loaded sandwiches on freshly baked bread and their homemade pizzas is no easy feat but from ogling the food making its way to other tables we're almost certain that you couldn't make a bad decision.
They reserve some of their tables for walk-ins everyday so if you find yourself in Dam Square head in for a nibble and you'll easily see why we love this place!
