Plant heaven at Amsterdam's Botanical Garden
We have most certainly become a set of crazy plant people recently, growing our little collection of succulents we’ve always had to now include house plants from 1 inch tall all the way up to our newest addition, a 5 foot tall rubber plant!
So obviously when wandering around Amsterdam we had to go and spend some time in the botanical gardens there, which turns out it’s actually one of the oldest in the world. We ended up spending a lot longer in there than we though we would as we discovered there was more and more to see.
The gardens are made up of an outdoor garden, 1 beautiful plant house, a butterfly house and a massive greenhouse with 3 different tropical climates in it, all making for a really interesting few hours exploring. There’s desserts, jungles, indoor rain and countless elevated walk ways to explore the gardens from above.
We had an amazing few hours there, away from the hustle and bustle of the city as well as some shelter from the rain. We 100% preferred the plant houses to the outside gardens, but on a summers day we bet it's stunning, and the perfect place for a relaxing visit in Amsterdam.
Since we spent so long in there, and took an obscene amount of photos this is definitely one for less words and more pictures, oh and a video (at the top) to enjoy. Get ready for all the plant pictures you could ever want!
