Weekend Eats at The Rams Head, Disley

Every now and then there's nothing better than visiting a good old English country pub for some proper comfort food and the Rams Head in Disley is just the place to do that. Located just on the edge of the Peak District I'm a sleepy little village, the Rams Head demands attention with its huge white building, housing a cosy pub, a table service restaurant and a gigantic pub garden hiding around the back.

We decided to eat in the pub itself as the relaxed atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday lunch for two. The menu is extensive and we spent a long time perusing before making a decision, from king prawn, crab & chorizo linguine to roasted butternut squash & beetroot tarts, you can guarantee there will be at least one thing that will whet your appetite.

We opted for deep fried panko crumbed brie with smoky tomato & apple chutney, crispy karaaga chicken with cucumber ribbons, mooli, grain salad and warm katsu sauce, followed by caramelised fig & whipped goats cheese curd pizza with mozzarella and hazelnuts. As far as pub starters go, Rams Head is miles ahead of the rest offering up the quality and difference that you expect from a fine dining establishment. Their pizzas are all hand stretched, topped with the finest ingredients and are all freshly made on site and we'd go as far as saying that they have the best pizzas we've tried this year so we'll definitely be back for more of them! Anyway, enough from us, they say the a picture speaks a thousand words and these words are going to have you drooling over your keyboard!
